The fun-loving company will whisk you off to discover the hidden gems of the Cape Winelands, and thanks to its musical swapping chairs policy you will make different friends along the way, experience different wines in different wine regions, taste different types of Wors (local sausage), local delicacies and meet different local characters, all the way up to Hermanus's majestic whales. A diverse and interesting day, showcasing the art of wine making, the history and culture of this area, and of course the star, our whales...all done in a Big, Fat Fun loving way.

Whale and Wine Tour

whale-crier-hermanusRunning every Tuesday and Thursday from July until December, the Whale, Wine and Wors tour comprises three major stops.

1 The first is Stellenbosch, where you will visit the quirky Oom Samie Se Winkel and stop over at the family-owned Middelvlei Wine Farm to sample some top-quality reds and whites and take a cellar tour.

2 Guided by our knowledgable guide, we follow in the footsteps of early explorers discovering the interior of wild SA where we arrive at the hidden gem town of Grabouw, for a unique South African pairing of authentic boerewors (farm sausage) and Everson’s Cider along with Biltong and red wine pairing in the wine makers cellar.

3 From here we take a trip to a stunning Hemel-en-Aarde Valley Estate for lunch, followed by wine and chocolate pairing!

4 Now for the world’s best land-based whale watching (binoculars are provided by Wine Flies) at the quaint coastal town of Hermanus.

5 Our final destination is the Wildekrans Boutique Wine Estate, which is where we sample some of the estate’s award-winning wines and Grappa.

And so, after a jam-packed day of exciting activities, it is time for us to head back to the Mother City, very jovial and inspired by the rich culture and stunning nature of this area. What a day.
