Why go with My Big, Fat Whale, Wine and Wors tour?

The fun-loving company will whisk you off to discover the hidden gems of the Cape Winelands, and thanks to its musical swapping chairs policy you will make many friends along the way, experience different wines in different wine regions, taste local Wors (sausage) and delicacies and meet different local characters, all the way up to Hermanus's majestic whales. A diverse and interesting day, showcasing the art of wine making, the history and culture of this area, and of course the star, our whales...all done in a Big, Fat Fun loving way.

Tour Itinerary

Running every Tuesday and Thursday from July until December, the Whale, Wine and Wors tour comprises three major stops.

Stellenbosch

Visit the charming and unique Oom Samie Se Winkel, and meet the friendly team at family-owned Middelvlei Wine Farm for some relaxed wine tasting & a cellar tour.

Grabouw

Experience a uniquely South African pairing of Boerewors and Everson’s locally-made cider, followed by biltong and red wine pairing with the owner’s garagiste collection of wines.

Hermanus

After lunch at the waters edge, use the binoculars provided for whale watching at one of the world’s best land-based view points, followed by tastings at a local micro brewery and a boutique wine estate.

Cost

Wine Flies’ Whale, Wine and Wors Tour costs R820 p/p, which includes all tastings, food pairings and lunch. Tours run every Tuesday and Thursday (August to December) from 7:30am-6pm.
